After graduating with a B Comm LLB from NMU in 1994 and attending the School for Legal Practice, Cape Town, Judy commenced her articles of clerkship with Cape Town based firm Lowe & Petersen. Here she was admitted as attorney in 1996 and practised for two years before relocating to Gqeberha where she joined RNI in January 1998.
Judy is a Director in the Litigation and Commercial Departments of RNI, to which position she was appointed in July 2000. She has over 27 years’ post-admission experience in various aspects of general and commercial litigation. Her portfolio of clients includes large municipal, commercial and industrial corporations. She is a Fellow member of the Association of Arbitrators (Southern Africa) NPC and acts as arbitrator, adjudicator and mediator.
Judy has served as a Commissioner in the Small Claims Court, as Chairperson of the local Attorneys Association, as convenor of the admission, conveyancing and notary exams and as Chairperson of the Local Taxing Committee. In 2007 Judy was awarded the Business Women's Association Regional Achievers Award in the professional category.
