Rushmere Noach Incorporated Commited to Breaking the Bias

“Break the Bias” is the obvious and necessary message that set the tone for International Women’s Day 2022. The theme of awareness of the continual fight for gender parity to achieve sustainability is also prevalent. South Africa has aligned to the global campaign of “Generation Equality”; which includes efforts to achieve gender equality by 2030 and remove systemic barriers. Rushmere Noach Incorporated has been, and will continue to be, committed to this and associates with the national theme of this year: “Women’s Socio-Economic Rights and Empowerment: Building Back Better for Women’s Improved Resilience”.

As a testament to this, Rushmere Noach Incorporated has achieved a staff compliment that constitutes seventy-nine percent female representation and a gender transformed female majority board of directors consisting of a five to four female to male ratio. Women also make up the majority of the professional team of attorneys and candidate attorneys. Rushmere Noach Incorporated’s objective of transformation has been strengthened through three recent promotions.

During July this year Rochelle Velkers was appointed as a director of the board. Rochelle practices both as a conveyancer and as an administrator of deceased estates. Rochelle was admitted as an attorney of the High Court during 2020 and a conveyancer during May 2021. Rochelle joins fellow female directors Judy Theron, Liane Koorsse, Nicole Deschamps and Shelby Lubbe-Roberts who have been directors since 2000, 2010, 2016 and 2018 respectively.

Also, during July 2022, Refilwe Tsatsimpe was appointed as an associate of the firm. Refilwe practices as a commercial and litigation attorney. Refilwe was admitted as an attorney of the High Court in 2021. Completing the trilogy of recent empowerment-based promotions is that of Mmabale Masipa, who completed her candidacy and took up the position as a professional assistant earlier this year. Mmabale practices in the commercial and litigation departments.

Rushmere Noach Incorporated remains committed to empowering women, through executive leadership, mentorship and merit recognition and to achieving diversity and equal opportunity in its workplace.
